    Stupid question - when starting over, what's the protocol for the filter, keep all same filter media or replace with new?

      Keep it. Otherwise you need to re-cycle the tank and pay for the new media.

        Yup that's the one. I just connected the intake of the powerhead (like this https://www.theaquariumshop.com.au/s...ead+800+L%2FHr) into one end of the micron filter, and then used a PVC end to plug up the other side. The whole thing just sits inside the tank since it's only a temp setup.

          Good job starting the tank again

          You will experience cloudiness again with the new substrate but that will be short lived and will clear quickly. Imagine the cloudiness sticks around for good lol.
