    Default Perth aquarium shops

    Hi all!

Looking for recommendations for Perth when I go there next week. Not that I can take any fish on the plane back but just wanted to have a look at what the west coast has to offer. Thanks!

Thanks, for detailed info Colin. Sounds like I might get good service if I bring a slab of beer along for the outing.

I think they would get quite cold up in checked baggage some kilometres above the earth.

I would recommend Aquotix and Vebas, Morley is a bit of a hike from the city but its an interesting little shop - got my apistogramma from Paul in Morley. Where in Perth will you be based happyfins?

Had a look on google, East Perth(Wellington Square) is close to Northbridge(you can get all kinds of cuisine in Northbridge, Italian, Chinese, Malaysian etc - try the chilli mussels Perth is famous for) which puts you very close to city, Morley is about 20 mins by car travelling north and Vebas is South, say 25 mins. Aquotix is in Canning Vale about 15mins by car from Vebas. You may ask how do I know, I used to live in Murdoch, WA. Good luck with the fish hunt happyfins!

If you want to take fish or plants back on the plane, double bag them and put them in an esky with a plastic liner in it. They will be fine in the cargo section.
otherwise triple bag them and put them in carry on luggage. If they don't have enough bags the airlines won't let them on in case they leak.

I live not far from wellington sqr park, I am in Northbridge on Aberdeen street, close decent fish shop is Morley Morley Aquarium, tho I usually go to Aquotix or Veebas, I prefer Aquotix... tho I have not brought new fish or any aquarium related gear for months now.

Aquarium Gallery Perth is probably the nicest looking shop, with the best plants, but $$, good for the hard to find premium gear, also great for actual fish tanks, they stock more unique sizes suited to aquascaping.

Thanks for everybody's input. I have come and gone. Had less time on my hands than I anticipated and frankly couldn't be bothered working out public transport to all the suburbs. But there is always a next time!
