    Wee bit technical...sorry.

Just because you've paid such top dolla for this product.

FYI the API test kits can be ball park. I've checked with reference solutions for nitrate but not for others.

Yeah, unfortunately I didn't have the time last night to play with the kit so I jumped straight in and tested Nitrates as this is important to me. Of course I didn't read the instructions and followed the picture guide without wearing my glasses and screwed the first attempt. Wasn't happy with the result on my second attempt and decided to give it up and read the instructions today.

I must say, the quality of this kit is amazing. Hopefully the accuracy will be too.

OOh, if they're that pretty (and science-y) I might actually get my wife interested in doing the tests for me!

Does she have access to fancy lab grade equipment?

So, a very quick update on the TestLab.

To put it succinctly, I love it! I like the fact that I can check pretty much every parameter that is important in a freshwater aquariums. Using other kits and/or meters I'm happy with the accuracy (except maybe for nitrates, will get back to you on that one.).

The only drawback, it takes quite a bit of time to perform all tests as some tests require 15 minute wait times. And it is a bit pricey, but to buy these tests individually, is more that double the cost.

    Would I recommend it? Absolutely!

Thanks for the information and recommendation Spidy so where and how much did you end up paying for this?

One of the two eBay sellers didn't have stock and the other one wanted waaaayyyyyyyy too much for shipping, so I ended up ordering from here:

    https://www.aquaristikshop.com/aquar...estlab/128019/

In the end, I think it cost just under $180 total. A bit pricey but as stated, to buy these individually would be more expensive.
