Got a 6kg CO2 cylinder on Monday and been gassing the tank with an extreme amount of CO2 to get a 1 point PH drop.
There is just way too much flow in this tank.
Possibly in the region of 40 to 50 liters going through the sump a minute.
The test guppies were looking very alarmed and would end up over the wier having no river trout strength to deal with such flow. The filter sump flow has been throttled back to guppy suitable levels.
Now they will have to deal with the MP40 turbine on its lowest setting, Hahaha!
Going to get a smaller return pump this morning. Maybe see what fish are out there and stock the tank.
Hope this reduction in flow will allow a reduction in CO2 too.

Haha maybe not a bad idea given the amount of degassing.

With the Galaxys, I want to know whether you found the bold and the beautiful type or the shy and bashful type. :P

Gonna keep the return pump as is . Found the sump looked a bit stagnant and a bit of green hair started growing where I had beat it back. I seem to have the FPV race drone type that rear apart the bottom 50mm of the tank, zooming around at wharp speed the same can’t be said for the majestic cardinals.

From my experience CPDs are shy fish, in this style tank I would expect them to stay low in the plant cover, things may change as they become comfortable with the surroundings and the plants get taller

Well the tank is busy ... over a hundred fish!
Installed the weir! Still loose a few over it.
Two cubes blood worm a day . Nitrate 25 ppm Phosphate 0.00
Not even cleaned the glass for a second time since strike up.
    Let’s hope the luck continues.

    Looking superb my good sir.

Is the background blue or black? Black would bring out the fish and plants better I think. Either way it should be obscured by the wall of plants!

Background is Sky Blue not much choice of colour in Perspex.
Need to get a few different types of plants and thicker ones too if I am to block out the background.
Just enjoying the different growth rates for now and later will start taking the aqua-scape a bit more seriously as I work this stuff out , hahaha!
