Unfortunately the corys will rip them out unless they are truly established. I would wait. You can't have khuli loaches etc either; in case you are considering.

I curious how the fighter is playing with the tetras? Hope they won't harass each other.

Keep patient; Nothing good happens quickly in aquariums.

Damn, might need to settle on what plants to keep first and then buy the corys once the plants are truly established.
Nah not a fan of khuli loaches, im aware they dig.

Fighter is doing well I had one in my last 6ft tank with angelfish and a tonne of tetras and corys, they always got along as there was always a tonne of room for him.

Funnily enough, he tried to squeeze into the MC to lay down (thats what it looked like lol)

Not wrong, patients is key here for sure! any idea on a neat, easy, bushy plant for the rear left? bought a species of hygro but im not liking it now. Its leaves are way too big and too far apart.

Agreed! now, to find Belem Hair Grass and buy some. Nah no tall plants on the right prefer that to be open swimming space for my Rummynose

I was now thinking, I could grow the existingStaurogyne repens around the base of the rocks or amongst them instead.
Going to buy fert tabs today to get them in and help growth out also.

The Rams will eat those expensive shrimp tho. Rummys will eventually start eating shrimp too. Perhaps go with red cherry shrimp.

What's with the colander in there? You cycling some more soil?
got given two Balloon Blue Rams on Sunday... all shrimp are now gone lol.

Ouch. Good thing you didn't have to pay for those yellows. When the plants grow thick, you might be able to have a few shrimp in there but otherwise there will be no hope. If the rams pair up and breed, they will also attack the other species in the tank, so watch out.

I had a planted 4x2x2 tank and even with heaps of hiding spots, all cherry shrimps got devoured by the blue rams... in a sadly short time. The only shrimps that survived for over 2 years in the same tank with the blue rams were the darwin algae shrimps and darwin red nose shrimps. I wonder if their lack of colour made them less of a target.

DAS would be bigger as well and can hold their own to an extent.

Definitely lucky they were free lol.

I believe the two blue rams are actually both male as they have been nipping at each other since they went in the tank and both have the exact same colouration.

I'm going to be re-homing the blue rams eventually though as I want Bolivian Rams in the tank and I only have the blues as someone was shutting their tank down and was going to dispose of them.

I just spent 2 hours sitting in front of the tank watching it, such a trance and so peaceful!
