Default Guide to posting pictures - Flickr and Facebook

    Hi everyone,

this is brief guide to posting pictures via Flickr.

    what you need
    1. Flickr account; please create one using www.flickr.com
    2. Upload the relevant photos to Flickr. You can use a variety of methods but most will use their smartphone to directly upload.

    3. Go to the photo stream in Flickr (you can do this using a browser in any device)

    6. Select the BBcode and further select size of picture to display - 1000 pixels or so is ok but you can go higher if you wish.

    1. This is fairly easy. Once you have uploaded and clicked on the photo, just right click and get the link address thusly;

    2. Then you have to come back to the thread and click on post picture icon and paste the address that you copied. Then click ok and you get this thusly...

@Indir, I don't know what you are talking about....

@Graeme, I think it works but happy/hope that others check it out and point out any errors.

    Good info there Rebel.
So down to the tech part. What is the best site to upload photo's from and why?
I have been using Photobucket and have had no problems but i have heard that Flickr has a greater resolution. Is it true?
Do you get a larger storage capacity from one or the other?
Any other info for photo sites not mentioned?

Flickr and facebk are better than Photobucket.

storage capacity, I am not sure about but it won't be a problem or issue.

Rebel, following your instructions on computer (iMac) no BB code could be selected when the share arrow is pushed. Do you know why?

Hmm, this has been a chronic problem for the Flickr ios and Android app which has not been fixed. I will check with my Mac when I get the chance but I suspect a similar issue. Perhaps try to request the 'desktop' site on Chrome or similar browser.

Still works fine for me on the "desktop / full" version of the site, you cant get the bbcode with the app or mobile site which sucks, I checked your flickr happyfins and I too cant see the bbcode option, weird, did you upload them with some custom setting? Make sure they are public etc.

Here are two snaps from my week away in Kalbarri - up the central cost of WA, beautiful spot, right where the Murchison River river runs into the Indian Ocean.

Nice shots, I'll have to revisit the privacy settings but don't think I was too strict on security when I opened the account.
