If you want to get nerdy, you can setup a IP camera to check on your tanks....

Cheers guys, here is the tank freshly trimmed, I am sure the tanks will be ok, cleaned out the filter and found 8 or so cherries living in there, was actually fairly clean considering it has only been cleaned out once perviously, low bio load helps I guess.

Just got back from my holidays in America and all my tanks faired fairly well, they are very messy looking and the odd bit of algae but all in all with no real maintenance I am happy, tho my snail population has increased. I wont have time to trim for another week or so its so bushy!

This photo is about 40 days after the last trim and clean...

Lovely tank! Pleased to see that it survived the holiday

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is the floating plant? I've seen it used a few times and quite like the look of it... I couldn't spot a name for it earlier in the thread.

It looks like it survived well - although big increase in MC thickness. Looks like your Pogos will have drowned.

The floaters really grew fast in this tank... I like the look of them covering 95% of the surface

Hopefully going to buy some fish this weekend! excited!!! I am thinking 15 - 20 Pygmy Cory's... need to trim the tank first so they dont get too spooked with my big hand in there hacking away at the MC
