I love mine. Don't have much to compare it to though the plants grow great and colour looks good for a low-med light.

No issues with durability. I picked it up second hand so mine is probably a few years old and it still a solid performing unit. Doesn't get to hot either.

What kind of depths does the Pro-U provide decent light to?

My tank is 45cm deep, want to be able to grow some nice mid and foreground plants.

I've got a few and I like them. No problem with durability but a 4ft light I bought from Hong Kong came with a dodgy looking power supply brick so I picked up an Australian PSU with similar specs and replaced it. I also like that a 12-24V dimmer as sold by MML and on ebay also works on these. Definitely not high light on a 45cm deep tank.

Sorry if it anyone's anyone bring this up but I'm looking at a decent light that won't break the bank for my 1220x380x450 (LxWXH).

Only plan to grown Anubias, ferns and moss on a piece of wood at various depths, would one of these suit my needs?

Yes it would be fine. just make sure you can mount it to your tank which seems to have an odd length.

Are the mounts adjustable at all? This was my next concern.

I may email sellers and see if they have the answers.

the mounts are adjustable (slides in and out) and i am fairly sure a 4ft unit will fit 122cm. i have a 60cm Pro U and it can easily fit on a 65cm tank.

I've got a 4x2x1.5 tank and want to grow medium light plants and keep the red colouring

I've got one of these lights will that be enough?

Should I get some extra lighting, perhaps a second unit?

    Thanks

I think you will need 2 to get an even spread of light, one will not be enough.

Which red plants are you growing? I think on your size tank even 2 lights would be just medium light.

    yeah
get two. Or try one first. OR Consider Chihiros A series (they actually have a plus series now as well). Best colour is probably with Up U though.
