Very nice collection you have there apistoguy, im in the process of setting up some breeding tanks for my apisto's,

I have a question on nannacara anomala, they are really beautiful fish how do you find these to keep/breed do you think pairs or trios or more is better with them?

Was there an A.Iniridae in there, I'm really hoping to breed them, at the moment I'm turning a 3ft into a biotope with smooth river rocks, lots of branches and wood, and there will be a layer of indian almond leaves. I only have two males but I will be able to get a few females, any tips on keeping these guys?

Hi Fish head

Nanacara are a beautiful species and from my experience in keeping them It seems they do better in pairs. I have kept them in trios but not had alot of success.

Hi To many choices

The 12th pic is the Iniridae male & the 13th pic is the Iniridae female, she is in brood colour and if you look closely you will see she has fry (again).
For breeding these guys, (mine are wild caught) it took me a while to get there water conditions right but once I did they spawned within days.
Currently I house them in a 2ftx1.5ftx2ft which includes driftwood and java moss, smooth river rocks and a mixture of fine gravel and sand from my local river (nepean).
The water is kept at 25-26 deg, Ph = 4.5 and TDS = 60ppm. I add blackwater extract every water change and I occasionally throw in an almond leave or two.

Oh yeah I see the fry. Mine are going into a 3ft 140litre, at the moment the pair with be by themselves, maybe I'll add some pencil fish or something later. My males are wild caught as well. Do you have much trouble getting rid of the offspring

A splendid collection of Apistogrammas Wane!
Do you sell them or just keep them for your own pleasure?

Hi apistoguy. Great photos!

Your A. Pebas "Sp.Morado" is a dead ringer for my male bought as a pair from Fishchicks sold as A. Galaxy. Interesting - I think the thread started by briztoon 15-20 threads ago refers to a pair of the same sub-complex. I was lucky the pair got down to business pretty quickly and now have around 30 fry free-swimming for 2 weeks now.

Great collection you've got going - I'm inspired...

impresive collection of apisto that you got.. I never had any luck with it.. most of pair or trio that i kept before were killing each other :(
